Northland Graduate School recently announced the new Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree that will now be offered for those pursuing a professional ministry degree beyond the master's level. This new program will replace what was known as the Doctor of Sacred Ministry (DSMin) which began in 1989 and whose graduates are currently using their degrees in accredited colleges and universities, pastorates, and mission agencies.
The competencies in the DMin will focus on enhancing one's ability to appropriately handle the scriptural text and to biblically disciple those to whom he ministers. It continues to be a professional ministry degree designed to equip the student in a biblical theology of ministry and ministry leadership for the purpose of developing a stronger, healthier church.
A few new things included in this program are:
- online classes offered in combination with residence requirements and
- a new seminar-style modular course that will include lecture, interactive research, and student presentations.
