At Northland every major is a Bible major. No matter what field of study you choose as a Northland student, you essentially earn a double-major: a major in Bible as well as your declared major. Every Northland student is fully immersed in the Scriptures through the Northland Bible Core—this generation’s most complete, most engaging Bible curriculum for the college student. 

What You Can Expect from the Northland Bible Core

1. Explore the breadth of Scripture.

  ✓ Take an expansive, eight-course overview of the entire English Bible:
         - Three courses in Old Testament studies
         - Five courses in New Testament studies
  ✓ Learn the meta-story of the Bible: begin with the powerful “From Creation
      to Consummation” foundational course that charts and brings into clear view the
      overarching story of God’s redemptive plan throughout history—and beyond.
  ✓ Get a solid, book-by-book grasp on the full content of Scripture from Genesis to
      Revelation.
  ✓ Be engaged in an immersive learning environment purposefully designed to go
      beyond knowledge into direct-ministry application and discipleship.

2. Mine the depths—the deep, foundational truths—of the Scriptures.

  ✓ Take the most complete suite of training in Systematic Theology available to
      college-level students today (four extended courses covering two years of
      study.)
  ✓ Drill deep into the ten grand themes and doctrines throughout Scripture, ranging
      from Bibliology to Eschatology.
  ✓ Learn to identify and apply biblical truth.
  ✓ Understand the historical development of orthodox theology.
  ✓ Discern between the theological constructs of the leading Christian traditions.

3. Apply Scripture to everyday life.

  ✓ Involve not just your head but your heart and hands, too. Northland’s approach
      to immersive discipleship will give you the opportunity to transcend just knowing
      Scripture to living it out every day.
  ✓ Learn how to make Bible study a daily habit and an integral part of your life.
  ✓ Take highly practical, highly engaging applied studies in Foundations for Biblical
      Living, Biblical Manhood/Womanhood, and the Christian Family.
  ✓ Be involved in ministry right away. As a Northland student, you will not just be
      training for ministry; you will become immediately involved in ministry through
      on-campus discipleship and off-campus involvement in local church ministry.

4. Build study skills for a life dedicated to biblical truth.

  ✓ Learn how to interpret the Bible skillfully through Northland’s full-spectrum
      Hermeneutics course.
  ✓ Know how to defend the faith within our current culture with Northland’s
      complete Apologetics, Worldview, and Christian & the Arts studies.
  ✓ Master the basics of Logic and Philosophy to assist you in discerning truth
      and applying Scripture to principles of ethics and morality.

The Northland Bible Core is a required collection of studies for every student at Northland International University.
