In every moment of every day, the Holy Spirit works
in the lives of believers, molding them more and more to the image of Christ. Over
the course of the semester, God has grown students at Northland, showing
Himself faithful and revealing Himself to them. Amidst the busyness of finals
week, students take time to reflect about God’s work in their lives over the
course of the semester:
God has stretched me in many ways this semester. He's been so
patient and gentle with me through the whole process. He's been teaching me
that only He satisfies. I was made by Him and for Him, so naturally when I
worship Him, everything connects as it should, and He satisfies. God has really
been impressing on my heart lately that I need to be consumed with Him
receiving His glory, just like He is. If my life is about me, then He is not
receiving the glory He deserves. He must have first place. – Heather Haines, junior
God has taught me to give Him everything that I am, every problem,
every project, every thought. He wants me to rely on His strength to carry on
in life, and college has helped me to realize that you cannot do it in your own
strength but only through HIM. – Amanda Lepisto, freshman
God has taught me, through a series of events, that His love is
unconditional and everlasting. He has reassured me that seeking to honor Him
with my whole life is both pleasing to Him and satisfying to me. – Andrew Rote, sophomore
As students
begin their travels to their respective destinations for Christmas break, they
think back on the profitable semester and look forward to the much needed
respite. Whether students go home to work or minister to family and church
family, or travel around the world for a missions opportunity, they begin being
break praying for opportunities for the Gospel and ready to serve.
Last Friday Dr. Matt Olson
challenged students to live their lives as disciples of Jesus Christ, abandoned
to the cause of reflecting Christ’s character while encouraging others to
follow Him as well. Listen to Dr. Olson’s sermon here.
