During this year's Missions Conference, we were reminded of Israel's practice of erecting piles of stones to signify some great work of God on their behalf. It was the responsibility of Jewish parents to rehearse God's mighty deeds to the next generation so that they would not forget God. To all who passed by, the stones served as a reminder of God's glory and power.
Since its inception, Northland has emphasized God’s mighty acts in the lives of men. In recent years, time has been dedicated in chapel for students and staff to share the works of God in their lives. We have rejoiced with one another as we hear about God's special provision of spiritual and material needs among the campus family. As we have gathered together for these chapel times, we have been reminded many times that the Christian life is not about God doing things for us. It's not about Him making us feel good. It's about this: we pledge to worship and serve the God of this universe, no matter what happens.
Our spring concert entitled, “Come, See the Works of the Lord,” is intended to rehearse God's mighty works and encourage the entire Northland family as we leave for summer break. The concert choir and orchestra, along with the Northern Lights and Northland Witness ensembles, have been preparing selections that will lift your spirits in praise to our awesome God. Make plans to attend the concert in the Pioneer Fitness Center on Friday evening, May 8, at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets are required, but admission is free. A freewill offering will be taken during the performance.
