Congratulations to the 2010 recipients of Doctor of Ministry, Doctor of Letters, and Doctor of Divinity degrees from Northland International University.
Northland Graduate School was pleased to present three doctoral inductees this year. Michael Alvis, Richard Cross, and Matthew Morrell all completed the program of study to earn their Doctor of Ministry degrees.
- Michael Alvis and his wife, Laura, reside in Smithville, Ohio, where he is the senior pastor of Heritage Baptist Church. After obtaining his bachelor’s degree from Bob Jones University, Michael earned his Master of Ministry degree from Northland International University. His dissertation title is “Discipline of Discipleship.”
- Richard Cross and his wife, Donna, reside in Longmont, Colorado, where he is the pastor of Faith Baptist Church. Richard earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Bob Jones University. His dissertation title is “God’s People Praying: Biblical Teaching, Historical Impact, and Church Application of Corporate Prayer.”
- Matthew Morrell and his wife, Kimberly, reside in Plymouth, Minnesota, where he is the pastor of Fourth Baptist Church. After obtaining his bachelor’s degree from Northland International University, Matthew earned his Master of Divinity degree from Central Baptist Theological Seminary. His dissertation title is “The Local Church’s Responsibility in Calling a Pastor.”
Also, Northland International University conferred three honorary doctoral degrees this year. The recipients were Beneth Jones, David Miller, and Reid Nelson for their contributions to the building of countless men and women for full-time ministry.
- Beneth Jones and her husband, Dr. Bob Jones III—chancellor of Bob Jones University, reside in Greenville, South Carolina. Mrs. Jones earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Bob Jones University. She has also studied at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. The degree of Doctor of Letters was bestowed upon Mrs. Jones.
- David Miller, and his wife, Elizabeth, reside in Mishawaka, Indiana, where he has pastored First Baptist Church faithfully for thirty-three years. David earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Bob Jones University. The degree of Doctor of Divinity was bestowed upon David.
- Reid Nelson, and his wife, Robin, reside in Mackinaw City, Michigan, where he has pastored Mackinaw City Bible Church faithfully for twenty-six years. After obtaining his bachelor’s degree from Bob Jones University, Reid earned his Master of Ministry degree from Northland International University. The degree of Doctor of Divinity was bestowed upon Reid.
