On August 12, 2010, Northland
International University hosted their 14th Annual Golf Tournament at
the pristine TimberStone Golf Course at Pine Mountain. Enjoying a beautiful day
in the north woods along with great fellowship, eighty-six golfers participated
in the tournament with the unified focus of providing scholarships for students
this fall. Last year, this event raised $15,000, which allowed seven students
to continue their Bible-based education. This year, thanks to the continued
generosity of the participants, donors, and sponsors, we exceeded our goal of $20,000 for student
scholarships, providing funds to help at least ten Northland students continue
their education.
The following quote by a student expresses
the value of these scholarships: “Thank you for your generosity toward the
students of Northland. Without your sacrificial giving, I probably could not
have attended college at all as my parents were unable to help me financially.
But, because you have allowed God to use you in this way, I am preparing for my
senior year of college and will be able to see it through to the end. Thank you
all so much!” Over 65 percent
of Northland graduates are now serving in vocational ministry, sharing the
Gospel as a career; therefore, the funds donated during the golf tournament
will continue to reap eternal rewards for God’s glory.
With the beginning of the
new semester rapidly approaching and the economy affecting some families, we
are aware of approximately twenty-five additional students who have not been
able to procure the finances necessary to return to school this fall. If you
are interested in making an investment in the next generation, please contact
