The spring semester of 2010 kicked off with classes
starting Tuesday, January 26. Students trickled in over the weekend, finalized
class registration, purchased books, and unpacked from a nice, long break at
home. Although it is considered to be the second half of a school year, a new
semester can mean a new start for many. For some who were undecided about their
majors, or reconsidering the major they were in, it is the ideal time to make
the change to a new major. For others, it is a new opportunity to improve their
GPAs (grade point averages), create new habits for success in academics and
spiritual disciplines, and even make new friends.
A couple of highlights that students can look forward to
this semester are the Men’s Heart Conference, February 2–5, where students are
able to enjoy the preaching of a variety of pastors and theologians during
chapel and special evening sessions and the annual Missions Conference, April
12–16, which is a great opportunity to expose students to missions
opportunities around the world.
We welcome the students back and look forward to how God
will work in lives this new semester.
