She is an outstanding shooter, but her game is about so much more than that. She really made every player around her better, which is a sure sign of a complete player.”

Northland’s junior forward Rebekah Watson (Byron, MN) was named as a National Scholar-Athlete by the NCCAA as well. girls-basketball-roster12This award is  given to a junior or senior with a cumulative grade point average of 3.40 or higher.  Watson also proved her value to the Lady Pioneers as she finished tied for first on the team, fourth in the region, and eleventh nationally in rebounds averaging 10.0 per game.

“Rebekah was such an encouragement to the entire team this year,” Whitt said. “I really hate to think about where we would have been without her. She was such a hard worker and great teammate for everyone associated with this team. She is obviously committed in the classroom as well, and I’m so proud of her for earning this honor.”
