Northland
International University exists as an educational ministry that ultimately
serves the local church—preparing students to serve in local churches for
revival, world evangelization, and the discipling of future generations for the
cause of Jesus Christ. Based on the core mastery of the Bible and a thorough
grounding in a biblical worldview, Northland prepares you to lead your
generation in the same manner that Jesus Christ modeled leadership while He
walked among us: as a servant-leader.
But with the economy as it has been, the ability for some families to afford
college for their children may seem formidable. Our financial aid staff strives to find all available
means to help cut costs in order to make a college education as affordable as
possible. Beyond that, we have seen God repeatedly do great and mighty things
in providing for students at Northland. “Works of God” testimonies shared in
chapel each Monday are a continual reminder that God can move any mountain to
put us where He wants us.
Northland’s
founder, Paul Patz, had a great love for people—especially those serving God in
full-time ministry. He understood the financial sacrifices most make in order
to live the extraordinary life. While he believed in individual fiscal
responsibility and a strong work ethic, he desired—from the very beginning—to make
Northland as affordable as possible for everyone—especially for those whose
parents served the Lord in full-time ministry. To this end, our Ministry
Scholarship is still the most generous scholarship we offer internally to our
students. It is a $2,500 scholarship toward the cost of tuition each semester,
totaling $5,000 per year. All students whose head of household is in full-time
Christian service or a ministry-related job will receive this scholarship.
Northland is
excited to continue offering about a dozen other scholarships as well,
including the Heart Scholarship, which has received generous contributions in
honor of Dr. Les Ollila, assisting upperclassmen students to complete their
ministry training in a timely manner; the Academic Scholarship, awarding $1,500
each semester for high GPAs; the Demonstrated Need Scholarship, helping up to
$2,500 each semester for difficult circumstances; the Early Decision Bonus of
$500; and so on. The potential of these scholarships, coupled with the readily
available federal Pell Grant of up to $5,350 per year and the newly available
Wisconsin state aid, will make college an affordable reality for many students.
