GO Mission Teams

Global Opportunities (GO) Mission Teams head out from Northland all summer long to minister the Gospel in cross-cultural contexts. The teams target strategic sites primarily in creative access nations while including additional sites that serve as conduits to these largely forsaken areas.

These teams undergo training by Northland faculty and staff who then accompany the team to the field. Each member of the team, whether staff or student, participates in a hands-on way to accomplish the work of the ministry. Because some areas are closed to traditional missions, we need to be creative in our approach. These trips are more than a simple cross-cultural experience. They involve intensive training and on-the-field participation from each team member. Platforms such as sports ministry, English teaching, and cultural immersion become natural modes of sharing the message of Christ.

 Program Features

1. While every corner of the world is open for prayerful consideration, preference is given to pioneering works in which there is little to no Gospel activity.

2.  Each participant is fully trained for field service through rigorous academic coursework. This includes a full semester of intensive training.

3.  Each Global Opportunities site has a permanent missionary presence to allow for follow-up work with summer contacts and ongoing discipleship.

4. Global Opportunities teams return each summer to the various sites to allow for building long-term relationships.
