Coach Andrew Scott
Andrew Scott has been the men’s soccer coach at Northland
International University since the summer of 2008. Since then, he has led the
Northland men’s team to two NCCAAII Midwest Regional championships (2009, 2010)
and a third place finish at the NCCAAII National Tournament (2010).
Prior to coaching at Northland International University, Coach Scott was a successful
player. As a teen, Coach Scott played for a very successful club team in the
Rush Soccer Club as well as the U.S. Olympic Development Program (ODP). In the ODP, he
played for both the Colorado State and the U.S. West Regional (U.S. National Pool
Team) programs. In college, Coach Scott played for NI. He was a three-time NCCAAII
first team All-American and helped lead his team to four consecutive NCCAAII national
championships. He had over 100 goals in his college soccer career. During and
after his college career, Coach Scott also played with the following semi-pro
and pro clubs: Colorado Comets (PDL), Colorado Cougars (PDL), Colorado Rapids
(MLS), and the Denver Kickers (NPSL).
While in Colorado, Coach Scott was also a full-time youth
pastor at Woodside Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado. Along with coaching, he
currently serves in Faith Baptist Church of Pembine, Wisconsin, as youth pastor.
He is also enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry program at Northland International University. Coach Scott has a
wife and three young children. His passions are God, family, ministry, soccer, hunting,
and mountains. Coach Scott loves teaching Biblical priorities, character, and
discipline through the game of soccer and is careful to deflect all glory
to God. He
is excited to coach young men who not only love the game of soccer, but more
importantly, who are also passionate about the glory of God and about living for eternity.
