Coach Dave Herron

In 1975, Dave Herron
graduated from Biola University with a BS degree in physical education
and a biology minor. He taught nineteen years in Christian high schools;
for fifteen of those years, he served at Whittier Christian School in
Whittier, California, as athletic director, boys' counselor, physical
education/health teacher, and head volleyball coach. In 1985 he started a
boys' volleyball program and began coaching on the United States
Volleyball Association level. His team captured the California State
Championship for boys' volleyball in 1991, 1992, and 1993. He holds a
sixty-match winning streak in boys' high school volleyball in
California. He also holds a current USVBA Coaching Certificate Level II.
He came to NBBC in 1994 as the varsity women's volleyball coach, men's
volleyball coach, and physical education teacher. He and his wife (and
assistant coach), Barb, have three children: Tyler, Trent, and Tiffany.
The Pioneers have won five conference championships in the Northern
Athletic Conference: 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2002.
