It appeared that the NI side had more energy for the night. The Pioneers hit an amazing .403 and had 5 aces and 6 solo blocks for the match. Pioneers Begin 2011 Campaign

After a successful preseason at the end of the 2010 calendar, the Pioneer men’s volleyball season begins play in the Wisconsin Volleyball Conference this Saturday, January 29, 2011. NI played two matches at the end of the first semester with an away/home match against Michigan Tech University. They were fortunate to win both of those, but Coach Herron approaches conference play cautiously. “We are not the same team we were even four to six weeks ago. We had one key player not return, one key player who is on the medically unable to perform list, and some unproven players in the lineup. We had a very good team last season but also lost some good players. The fact that we were in the WVC Championship match last season has a nice big bulls-eye on the back and front of our jerseys!”
