The Pioneers mounted a comeback after falling behind by 24, but time ran out a little too quickly. A first half cold spell disheartened the Pioneers as they were only about to hit 24 percent of their FG attempts and 64 percent of FT attempts. There was a glimmer of hope for Northland as they began to find their touch in the second half, shooting 46 percent from three-point range, but they could not close the gap before the buzzer sounded.
Josh Conover (Reading, PA) started out the game ice cold but picked up his game, finishing with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Seth Quirey (Elkhart, IN) led the Pioneers in scoring with 18. Other contributors on offense were Daniel Doran (Allen Park, MI) with 10 points, and Justin Sheley (Rockford, IL) and Stephen Mee (Knoxville, TN) both with 7.
The Pioneers will finish up their regular season with two home games this Friday and Saturday. On Friday, North Central University will come in as the third-ranked team in the NCCAA. NCU beat Northland , 78–73, in OT on February 4. The Eagles of Faith Baptist Bible College will visit Northland on Saturday. This will be the first meeting between Northland and Faith this season.
