“We made a good
comeback, and I am proud of the guys’ effort especially in the second half,”
Coach Wehry noted.“We made some
adjustments, and we much more locked in for the second half. We were stagnant in the first half against
the zone—we looked confused and young. Then in the second half, when we made our run to tie at 53, we had two
poor possessions.Then after those
possessions, they are up five with about three minutes to go, and we had three good
defensive stops and did not get possession of the boards. . . . We are fighting time and the
opposition.Overall, I am pleased
because we keep learning and we keep getting better. We look forward to getting everyone healthy
and adding two key players—Josh Conover and Daniel Doran [from being part of
the third place finish at the soccer nationals]. Our coaching staff
really believes in this team, and we know that we will continue to
improve.”
