Coach Nathan Chatfield
Coach Nathan Chatfield began his
college career at Northland in 2005 after a successful high school career in Michigan
in which he was named to the MHSAA All-State Team four times and set three
state records (goals, assists, and points in a career). He is also ranked second
nationally among high school students for the most points in a career and the top ten for
both goals and assists respectively. In college, Coach Chatfield was a four-time All-Region
player and one of only three Northland players to ever be named as a three-time NSCAA
Adidas First Team All-American. He notched ninety-one goals to go along with seventy-eight assists,
making him Northland’s all-time leader in points and landing him in the top three for
both goals and assists respectively. Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in
Physical Education in 2009, Coach Chatfield is now pursuing his master’s degree in
Biblical Studies at Northland. He also received his National Diploma from
the National Soccer Coaches Association of America in the summer of 2010.
Coach Chatfield married
his wife, Tiffany, in January 2009, and they rejoiced in the birth of their
first child, Eliana Lou, in March 2011. He has served as the men’s
soccer assistant coach, women’s soccer assistant coach, and women’s basketball
assistant coach during his two-year employment at Northland. He currently works
in the Admissions Office as an Admissions Advisor. Coach Chatfield is excited about
pursuing God’s will for his life and is passionate about using the platform of
athletics to fulfill the Great Commission and to disciple whomever the Lord
chooses to bring into his life.
