Purpose:
Driven by our conviction that Great Commission living results in the growth and strengthening of local churches, that student discipleship must include organic connection to actual churches, and that biblical assemblies play a pivotal role in God’s plan for this age, Northland International University has established the Center for the Local Church to encourage, to cooperate with, and to strengthen the local church as well as to promote a biblical ecclesiology in this generation.
What is the Center for the Local Church?
Northland’s Center for the Local Church trains students for a lifetime of active involvement in the local church through practical academics, opportunities for hands-on ministry in actual churches, various internships, and connection with pastors nearby and at home.
"Thechurch is very important to the Triune God. It was eternally purposed in themind of the Father, sacrificially purchased through the blood of the Son, judiciallyproduced by the baptism of the Spirit, and is providentially preserved by thepromise of Jesus Christ (Eph. 3:10-11; Acts 20:28; 1 Cor. 12:13; Matt. 16:18).If God Himself is this interested in His church, we should be too." – Dr. McLachlan
